Atul Punj, Chairman of the diversified EPC conglomerate Punj Lloyd, has been elected as the President of International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA 2015-16). The decision of naming Atul Punj as the President was taken unanimously by the members of the IPLOCA. International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association is a reputed international industry body representing over 240 key players in the onshore and offshore pipeline construction industry across the globe.
Created in 1966, IPLOCA is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The inception of IPLOCA came into being when in 1966, International Pipe Line Contractors Association (IPLCA) was established by the leaders of the international pipeline construction industry as the international division of the Pipe Line Contractors Association (PLCA) of the United States.
Atul Punj, who has been on the IPLOCA Board as Director, East & Far East since last year will be replacing Jean-Claude Van de Wiele. As the President of IPLOCA, Atul’s focus would be on promoting the highest standards in the pipeline industry and facilitating business opportunities for various members.

Atul Punj seems to have been following in the footsteps of his father, SNP Punj who was the President of IPLOCA in 1997.

In India, Punj Lloyd has been associated with projects of strategic importance including the Dahej Vijaipur Pipeline, Dabhol Bangalore, East West Gas Pipeline.
