Amrapali’s unfinished projects may take 4 years for completion: NBCC

According to the analysis by a team of National Buildings Construction Company (NBCC), majority of the incomplete Amrapali projects will take around four years for completion while remaining may need just one year.

After the Supreme Court’s instructions on Thursday, the representatives of Amrapali projects with 36 NBCC engineers examined the incomplete projects of the defaulter builder. This inspection was done to estimate the time and plan of action required by NBCC to complete the projects.

According to a source, “Leisure Valley, Golf homes and Dream Valley will take up to 4 years for completion. On the other hands, projects namely Silicon City, Sapphire-I and II, and Princely Estate can be completed in approximately a year with rigorous work.”

With two-third of the builder’s projects incomplete in Noida-Greater Noida, NBCC has to inform the Supreme Court about the builders, agency, timeline and framework for inter-authority agreement which will be involved in the revival of the projects.

The condition of all the buildings needs to be analyzed again. Since the buildings are at distinctive phases of construction, it is important to examine the extent of replacement and rework required in the existing structures and simultaneously plan for future developments.

This may mark the beginning of a new chapter of construction where the government is playing a substantial role to complete the projects of a private builder. The success of this experiment may lead to the completion of various other such projects pan India.
