India, a land budding future prodigies expects to be a world center for CEOs

India, a land of rich heritage, has not only preserved its relics but also cultivated intelligence that can dominate the world. Justifying their title, Indian prodigies are changing the face of technology, and infrastructure.

From Sunder Pichai leading the tech giant, Google, to Satya Nadella claiming his seat at Microsoft, India hosts plenty of established, and up-coming leaders. Here is a list of top CEOs in 2018 (ranked in no particular order).

  1. Sundar Pichai : Google

When google announced Sunder Pichai as its CEO, it was a moment of pride for every Indian. Hindu mentioned it as “a bonus for people of Indian-origin world over”. The Times of India addressed him as a “quiet yet thoughtful” man from Chennai (Madras). He is currently one of the most high profile Indian born CEO.

  1. Indra Nooyi: PepsiCo

Over her 12 year stint at PepsiCo, Indira Noori was nothing less but revolutionary for the company. Taking over the beverage giant in 2006 as its first female head, Nooyi prompted a shift in PepsiCo’s snacks, and drinks business turning them towards healthier items.

  1. Ajay Banga – MasterCard

Working with major brands like Nestle, PepsiCo, Mr Banga was appointed as the CEO of MasterCard. Being pragmatic, and balanced in the business conducts, Mr Banga while addressing the IIM students shared his business vision “Get with somebody good. Get with somebody global. Do something that interested me. That’s it. So, don’t stress if you haven’t got a detailed plan for your life. Anyone can have a good idea or plan; what makes it great is execution.”

  1. Ivan Menezes – Diageo

Another leader having a similar career background as Mr.Banga as a former employee at Nestle, Menezes was appointed as the CEO of Diageo. Some famous brands owned by the company are Guinness, Johnnie Walker whisky, Smirnoff vodka and Captain Morgan rum.

  1. Satya Nadella – Microsoft

With his name topping the list, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella was ranked as best CEO in US. The business executive is in a controlling position of Microsoft. The employees reckon about him through “how he dealt when times were really good, but also when there were mishaps. The team felt that he handled the mishaps with grace.”

6.     Rajesh Subramaniam- FedEx

Taking over the position of president, and chief executive officer of the US multinational courier delivery mogul FedEx, Rajesh Subramaniam is a recent addition to the list of Indians dominating the global market. David J Bronczek, president and chief operating officer, FedEx Corporation, said “Raj’s global vision and broad experience make him uniquely qualified to lead our largest operating company. We look forward to the continued growth of FedEx Express within our global portfolio as Raj takes on this critical role.”

The ability of Indians to think proactively, critically, and prioritize work, captured the attention of global companies where Indians have risen to the top of the ladder, sitting as chief CEOs. Therefore, the list is expected to see an addition of Indians in future.
