Sahara Group’s brand associates with Super Eco for strengthening Make in India

Taking forward the legacy of Make in India initiative, Sahara India Pariwar’s venture of electric vehicles Sahara Evols has successfully partnered with Super Eco for manufacturing country-made electronic scooters. Supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission, the company’s first manufacturing unit is inaugurated in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

In the initial phase, around 50 thousand electric scooters and 6 thousand 3-wheeler or E-auto rickshaw would be manufactured. Only Indian technologies and parts would be used while assembling these vehicles.

The company would be availing electronic scooters across the country through its vast dealership network and also planning to expand its presence in the foreign markets in near future.

During the inauguration, Vice President of Sahara Evols credited Subrata Roy Sahara’s vision of fostering Self-reliant nation concept behind this new venture and partnership. This automobile brand has expanded expeditiously across India with a huge network of dealers in the last two years.

Sahara Evols CO, Dr. Aditya Banerjee said, “We have taken a step towards strengthening the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) mission with the manufacturing of Sahara Evols in the country. It is the only company using complete Indian technologies and working to sell it in the international markets”

Vice President of Sahara Evols Marketing, Khushboo Goyal said, “Since 2018, over 8 thousand e-vehicles have been sold and our brand has reached around 22 Indian states. Following the vision of Saharasri, we have come into the manufacturing sector of e-vehicles.”

To promote the concept of electronic vehicles, the government lowered the GST on electrical vehicles to 12 per cent. Earlier, in the last year, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari urged EV players in India to grab opportunities amid the changing circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also expressed confidence that India will become the manufacturing hub for E-vehicles in the upcoming five years.
