Indians lead the way, Amway gets Milind Pant as new CEO

Direct selling dietary supplement maker, Amway, has announced Milind Pant as the Global Chief Executive Officer.

Coming with a vivid experience in the industry, he was a part of Yum! Brands, and was the President of Pizza Hut International.

Pant will be taking on the role with Amway from January 2, 2019. The company has a revenue of $8.2 billion.

An addition to the list of Indian origin top rankers in multiple organizations such as Google and Microsoft, Pant is the first to join the family run organization at this new position. The statement released by Amway said, “This is a new position for Amway, a business that has been family run since its beginning in 1959.”

Handing over the management of the family-owned company to Pant, which was started by Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos, Amway Chairman, Andel said, “Milind brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to help lead Amway to even greater heights.”

He further added, “We’re confident his leadership and strong track record of driving growth and transformational change will go far in advancing Amway’s focus on empowering entrepreneurs and meeting customer needs with exclusive and innovative products.”

A masters in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and Master of Management Studies from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India, Pant has done exemplary work in expanding Pizza Hut’s International Division across Asia and Europe.

In-charge of the 9,000 Pizza Hut Stores outside the U.S., he played a major role in strategizing for the digital business of the company.

Prior to working with Yum! Brands, he was a part of Unilever and served a variety of roles, including VP of Foods for Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey.

Amway has till now been co-led by Van Andel and Doug DeVos who have both served as Chairman since 1995 and since 2002 respectively. Both will now be co-chairing the company.

He further added, “Given Amway’s strong foundation and leadership in the industry, we’ve never been more confident in the business’ future and we’re excited to welcome Milind to the Amway family.”
