Shweta believes in building social businesses which not only generate revenues but also benefit the society at large. She began the talk with her own example of her journey from a small town, and how she paved her way for success as a social entrepreneur.

Shweta Mangal hails from Beawar – a small town in Rajasthan. After completing her MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, she established Mangal Newton School in her hometown with the idea of providing high quality education. Before initiating her own start-up, Shweta worked with many renowned brands including Zee TV, Tata AIG and Marico Industries.

Pursuing her dream to improve the lives of people, Shweta Mangal started an ambulance service with her fellow entrepreneurs. The motive was to provide emergency medical assistance to the people, especially the unprivileged ones. All the efforts culminated into the formation of Ziqitza Health Care Limited (ZHL).

At present, Ziqitza operates more than 3,500 ambulances and is one of the largest emergency medical services providers in the country. Shweta is now focusing on scaling up the MUrgency project overseas.

While delivering the speech, Shweta emphasized on having social service as the main objective of the social entrepreneurs over promotion of their own ventures. She focused on the fact that present situation is perfect for women to emerge as social entrepreneurs and leaders. Shweta Mangal motivated the aspiring saying that strong dedication and will to do hard work are key to success in any sector.
