Recently, JSS Law College (JSS LC) and Surana and Surana International Attorneys (SSIA), Chennai completed the ‘18th Surana & Surana National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition 2020’. The event was inaugurated by High Court Judge Justice BA Patil at JSS Law College, Kuvempunagar at the Silver Jubilee Hall on 9th February.
While speaking at the event, Justice Patil said that healthy competition could lead students to achieve goals in their life. Conducted with the aim of enhancing knowledge on Court mechanism, the game stressed on International Taxation Standards. Total 24 number of teams participated across the nation along with the participation of 12 National Law Schools.
The inauguration of the event concluded with the presence of the chief guests -Dr P. Ishwara Bhat, Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka State Law University (KSLU), Hubballi and Dr C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha.
Dr Vinod Surana, Managing Partner and CEO of SSIA, Prof K.S. Suresh, Chief Executive, JSS LC and Dr S Ravichandran, Advocate & Head, Academic Initiatives, SSIA were amongst the guest of honours.
The two-day event witnessed preliminary rounds –Octa and Quarterfinal rounds on 8th February while Semi-finals and final rounds were conducted on 9th February. Company Secretaries, Judicial Officers, Taxation Experts, Chartered Accountants presided over as the judges.
