‘MBD Run’ by MBD Group creates awareness on ‘Education for all’

MBD Group, the leading education company in India, organized a mega event “MBD Run for Education” amidst great fun fare and enthusiasm. The Event was flagged off from MBD Neopolis Mall, Jalandhar (owned and managed by the MBD Group) by Punjab’s Honorable Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema. Many dignitaries from Punjab, Haryana as well as Delhi graced this grand event.  More than 2500 employees of MBD Group, individuals from other institutes & corporate houses participated in this event.

The event kick-started with a run at 8 pm on Sunday, where participants wearing neon accessories and body paint, ran to cover a distance of 4.5km. The atmosphere became enthralled with live performances by renowned Punjabi top artists DJ Bawa and Gautam Sharma from Ecstasy- the Dance Studio.  UV Light zone and Neon photo booth were other attractions at the event. Medals, certificates, on-the spot gifts and t-shirts were also distributed among the participants to add to the festivity.

MBD Group organises run for education

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Satish Bala Malhotra, Chairperson, MBD Group said, “I am delighted to announce successful completion of 60 years of MBD conglomerate. I feel a strange mix of pride and overwhelming humility when I focus on the journey that MBD Group has undertaken since its inception. We have always tried to follow the noble footsteps of our founder Mr. Ashok Kumar Malhotra. Today, I am a proud mother of my two daughters, who are leading the MBD Group from strength to strength. I am sure our Group will scale remarkable heights under their guidance.”

Ms Monica Malhotra Kandhari, MD, MBD group further added, “It gives me immense happiness to witness the overwhelming responses we received from the participants who joined us for the noble cause of education for all. Through this unique initiative we aimed at bringing amateur runners as well as passionate professionals under one platform to awaken the spirit of compassion, sportsmanship and generate understanding about importance of education in a young and inspirational nation. She further added, “This is also a moment to rejoice for us as we embark on the next phase of our incredible journey after completing 60 years with growing multinational reach of the MBD conglomerate”.

Ms. Sonica Malhotra, Joint Managing Director, MBD Group said, “Education has been an important factor in the growth of any country. Though a lot has been done to improve the education level in the country yet there is a lot more which has to be done. It is the duty of every individual, group, organization and corporate to contribute in whatever possible way to support this cause. MBD Run for Education was an initiative to seek the support of the people to join the group in spreading awareness about this noble cause. “

MBD Group organized this event to celebrate its Founder’s Day to mark the birth anniversary of Mr. Ashok Kumar Malhotra, founder of MBD Group, on 10th July. Mr. Malhotra always believed in being a responsible citizen and hence a lot of his initiatives in business and his personal life were aimed at the betterment of the society. The run was a testimony to human fortitude and endurance, which were the core values of Mr. Malhotra.
