Joker “glorifies violence”, must not be screened: The Hypocritical Indian Cinema Board

Oscar-winning movie Joker has been banned from Indian TV screening. The Film Certificate Appellate Tribunal has taken the decision to not allow the film to be aired on television as the movie “glorifies violence”.

“We tend to agree that the film glorifies violence and in as it is seen by non-adults, it would have a lasting effect on their impressionable minds”, said FCAT. Hypocritically enough, there are numerous other Bollywood movies that have been screened that glorify violence. These Bollywood movies have not glorified violence but also made use of profane language in them. Mentioned below are some of the many violent movies that have been constituted with promoting violence on-screen:

Gangs of Wasseypur
