Character building: As discussed earlier, character building is an integral part of every movie. While Nani and Bhumika’s character was repeatedly highlighted, being the leads, Sai pallavi and Naresh’s character should’ve been built better.
Technical Aspects: Venu Sriram has chosen a very old story and has tried to make it interesting by introducing a number of interesting elements like comedy, action, family bond and romance through Nani’s character. However, apart from the leading characters of Nani and Bhumika, none of the instances in the second half managed to create an impact that would offer the audience to stay connected throughout the movie.
The Plot of MCA(Middle Class Abbayi):-
MCA movie is based on a middle class family with Nani and his sister-in-law, played by Bhumika, as the central characters. Opening shot is considered to be one of the most important parts of any movie — it highlights the characters’ personality aspects. The movie, in terms of opening, has taken a detour from the regular ‘character establishment’ to ‘relationship establishment’ and given a headspin in the first few minutes of the movie. Highlighting the love-hate relationship of the two, Nani has delivered his exceptional skills in his lead role and his performance has been captivating from the beginning till the end.
Sai pallavi, who plays the love interest of Nani, has made a good comeback in the industry with the best suited role for herself. The chemistry between the characters is brilliant.
There is a good mix of elements in the first half of the movie consisting of good comedy scenes and punch lines, a good love story, sarcasm at home featuring the typical life of a middle class family. The main villain, Naresh, has done a superb job however, the character could’ve been made more interesting. The first few hours of the second half of the movie, the plot completely dips in terms retention and becomes extremely redundant. Though, the movie picks up its pace in the last half hour, it still has 1 hour of flavourless screenplay in the second half, making the movie an average one-time watch.
Towards the end, MCA Movie gets a little predictable and it is believed that if not for Nani’s agile performance, this film would not have done as good as it did on screen.
