Indian Couture Week 2018 commenced on July 25 with designers Tarun Tahiliani and Anju Modi’s glamorous works. The event is organized by the Fashion Design Council of India and will go on till July 29 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi.
Tarun Tahiliani showcased his collection ‘Elysium’ with a theme of modern Indian bride. A contemporary fashion touch was noticed in the designs of Mr. Tahiliani. The process of detailing and studying every little inch of the couture went on for months and finally displayed itself in all its glory on Wednesday night.
Famous actress, Aditi Rao Hydari walked the ramp for Tarun Tahiliani as the showstopper and she totally justified why Tarun chose her. A peach, off-shoulder lehenga with a cape-styled dupatta and floral embroidery with hemline fringes made her look like an elegant, alluring bride. The confidence and poise in her walk dazzled everyone in the house.
While Tarun displayed a wonder of modern, individual woman, Anju Modi revived fashion from the Victorian Era. The pride and attitude of the 1800’s inspired her to bring forth the aesthetics of that time in today’s world.
Titled ‘A Maiden’s Prayer’, Anju’s collection was a fairytale’s snapshot. The showstopper had to be someone who resonates ‘bold and beautiful’ and there was no better choice than the ‘Queen’ herself- Kangana Ranaut.
Ranaut wore a beige lehenga with a longline, maroon velvet jacket. Her ensemble featured a floral embroidery in silver- golden with an exquisite diamond necklace and matching chain-finger bracelet. The Victorian era touch was perfectly portrayed with her hairstyle and make up.
Both the actresses stole the show with their beauty and confidence. Upcoming days will feature world-class designers like Pallavi Jaikishan, Amit Aggarwal, Shyamal and Bhumika, Rahul Mishra and Reynu Tandon. This edition of Indian Couture Week 2018 is going to create some serious waves in the global fashion industry.
