National NGO’s cleanliness drive in Tughlakabad

The volunteers and members of National Ngo promoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission by picking up brooms and cleaning the market areas in Tughlakabad Extension. The organization looks forward to other such cleanliness drives to contribute in the journey of cleaning India. The Swachh Bharat Mission is India’s biggest cleanliness drive ever and involved an active participation from various schools, colleges and government employees from all over the country.

According to a volunteer of National NGO, “We strongly support PM Modi’s campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with the aim of accomplishing the vision of a ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October 2019; the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. “

Explaining more about the mission, he added, “To promote cleanliness, we took the challenge and picked up the brooms ourselves to sweep the streets and local market areas in the Tughlakabad area. We divided the areas among us and made sure that all the waste was disposed properly. We encouraged and evoked a sense of responsibility among the residents of Tughlakabad in joining hands to support the Clean India Movement.  It feels great to be a part of this great initiative to promote cleanliness practices in our country.”

A resident of Tughlakabad stated that, “It is a great move by the volunteers and members of National Organization for Social Empowerment. It was much-needed in our area as the plight of our locality was not heeded by the municipal corporation. The drainage systems were ineffective and blocked along with accumulation of piles of waste in our locality.”

The main objective of the National Ngo is to facilitate better quality of life in all its realms through community mobilization, participatory governance based on sustainable natural resource management. Thus community participation, education, protection and promotion of environment and social capital are central to the activities of the organization.
