Providence Health & Services, a US-based healthcare systems provider has recently inaugurated its global innovation centre in India. It aims to invest around $100 million and recruit over 2,000 technologists.
It would be the providence’s first development centre outside the US. Initially, it aims to begin by hiring 250 techies and later reach the mark of 2,000 in upcoming years.
Murali Krishna, Senior Vice-President and Country Manager will head the Hyderabad’s innovation centre. India’s centre will focus for prospering various verticals like engineering, data intelligence, digital innovation, application development, tech support and many more.
A number of teams would be divided to design and innovate existing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Microsoft Azure, Web Development, and other evolving technologies for digitally-enabled health system.
In today’s scenario Hyderabad has emerged as the IT hub of India and most preferred destination for IT and defence related organisations. Most of the companies setup in Telangana’s capital has grown at more rapid rate than it was expected.
Joel Reifman, US Counsel General in Hyderabad, stated “In less than six months since my presence in Hyderabad this is the fourth US company opening a facility. This is no accident but is due to the attractiveness of Hyderabad as an investment destination and support of the State.”
Providence Health & Services is headquartered in Renton, Washington and the largest health care system in the in State. It also encompasses 51 hospitals, and over 800 non-acute facilities along with other health supportive services.
In 2012, Providence acquired Swedish Health Services and formed a merger to expand services to patients in Snohomish and King counties. Providence Medical Group employs over 1,600 physicians with expertise in various healthcare specialities.
