Low-cost domestic airline, Indigo, is in the news again and it has been, so far, consistent in maintaining the record. This is third time in a month that the social media is flooded with the news about Indigo, where in, the airline is at fault twice.
On Sunday, 19 November, a woman flying Indigo Airlines, Krishna Sarma, had an ‘unpleasant experience’ because of the airport staff of the airline. The incident took place at the Guwahati airport, where Sarma was clicking some pictures when her luggage was being screened again and again. Her mobile was allegedly snatched by the staff member to delete those pictures.
The Indigo management reverted saying they regret their staff’s behavior. Also, in response to her complaint, they suspended two of their employees who were involved in the incident. In a statement, Indigo said, “The airline has been in touch with Sarma and regretted the inconvenience caused to her. In fact, we have kept her informed of the immediate steps that Indigo has taken, following her complaint.”
After checking her bag, one of the staff allegedly said she had to delete the pictures. Despite the passenger saying that the pictures have been deleted, the staff forcibly snatched her phone and proceeded to delete the same from the ‘recently deleted’ folder in the phone, as per the message purportedly attributed to Sarma.
Later, the passenger reportedly expressed satisfaction, and said, “I am satisfied that IndiGo responded with such alacrity”. Though, she refused to further talk about the incident.
IndiGo has been hogging the limelight for various issues in the last few weeks. Earlier this month, a video went viral on Indigo staff misbehave, where two staff members were seen pinning a passenger down on the ground at the Delhi airport. Indigo, on Twitter, offered an apology to Rajiv Katiyal (the passenger), and terminated the two employees.
Also, on Monday, a video was doing the rounds in which a female flight attendant of IndiGo Airlines made two drunken men fall at her feet and apologies because they misbehaved with her at the Hyderabad airport.
