The Hotel Association of India pursued the Union government’s support to revive the hospitality industry, by extending loans of one-time restructuring.
An HAI delegation met Union Minister of Culture, Tourism and Development of North East Region, G Kishan Reddy on Monday, and deferred suggestions for the revival of the industry, according to a statement.
In the representation, HAI highlighted the urgent need to make fragrant liquidity into the industry through means like – extension of moratorium, one-time loan restructuring, improved terms under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme as well as revised eligibility ratios under the resolutionation framework.
The association also sought policy changes such as – granting industry status to the hospitality sector. Which will further allow the hotel industry to avail benefits of low cost funding and tax benefits that are currently available only to industries like ports and highways.
