Neptune Group advices elders to choose a house that offers convenience

Post retirement life is far from being a cakewalk. The personal and professional life that you had been trying to balance out for years suddenly drift towards contrasting ends. On one hand you drop the responsibilities of the job that you had been doing for years and on the other hand, the personal life tries to corner you with responsibilities which if not handled properly, can put the life in your sixties in turbulence. For most of the people, the biggest task post retirement is to purchase or move in a new house. This is one domain where the elderly must place their own convenience ahead of everything. Many elderly couples are forced by the circumstances to stay alone post retirement. On these accounts, they must be extra careful about choosing the right house.
Elders often come across situations in their life where at times the kids move abroad or they have to live alone. In such situations, the elders have the support of their spouse to get through the life smoothly. “Home is where the peace is. A shelter over our head is the most basic necessity for any person. For elders, while buying a home, there are a few convenient pointers that must be kept in mind. They must not choose higher floors. An apartment that is easy to access for them should be the priority. Also, the location must provide them with all the basic conveniences like transportation, markets, hospitals and other important institutions.”, says Nayan Bheda, Managing Director, Neptune Group.
Neptune Group also warns the elders against getting duped by various Senior Living Projects. Such projects are nothing but farce. The amenities offered are sub standard and they are forced to live away from their families.
