Dr Ashwani Maichand organized a ‘Free Health Check-up Camp’ for Arthritis Patients

A free medical health camp was organized by Dr Ashwani Maichand, Delhi’s top Orthopedic, on August 13 at Minomax Knee & Shoulder Clinic in West Delhi. Being socially cognizant, Dr Ashwani Maichand is dedicated towards making the city ‘free from pain’.

The health camp aimed at promoting wellness of arthritis patients seeking a right treatment for their joint pain. The camp also helped on building awareness regarding nutrition, hygiene and sanitation amongst people.

The objective of the camp was to provide free Bone Mineral Density Test and a Neuropathy Test to the patients. In addition, the first 20 patients availed a free Vitamin D Test. Apart from these facilities, the registered patients were given 50% off on X-rays.

The camp saw a huge footfall of patients suffering from chronic joint inflammation, swelling, snapping, instability, locking, stiffness, and other bone or muscle related ailments.

Over 15 million adults in India fall prey to arthritis every year. In fact, a number of studies point towards alarming conclusions that say India might become the ‘Osteoporosis Capital’ by 2025 with over 60 million people suffering from severe joint defects. The disturbing trend needs to be arrested before it becomes endemic.

Dr Maichand holds an extensive experience of more than three decades as an orthopedist. He has been associated with prominent healthcare institutions like Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, and Fortis Hospital. Currently, he is practicing as a senior consultant and director at the Institute of Bone and Joint in MGS Hospital, Punjabi Bagh.
