IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd., a widely known and trusted name in the construction and infrastructure sector recently bagged a contract worth Rs 2,100 crore from NHAI for a six-lane project in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The company was incorporated to fund the capital requirements of the IRB Group initiatives in the infrastructure sector. It has established benchmarks of excellence in its field and emerged as one of the major road developers in the country. The company has constructed and maintained around 9,295 lane kms of road length since its inception.
The aggregate size of the company’s projects (both completed and under execution) is around Rs. 284,928 Million. It undertakes the development of various infrastructure projects in the road sector through several Special Purpose Vehicles. The company has achieved the Financial Closure in FY 2009-10 for our newly awarded projects viz Pathankot Amritsar BOT Project, Jaipur Deoli Project , Talegaon Amravati BOT Project and Panji Goa BOT Project.
Talking about the NHAI contact, the company stated that, “IRB has emerged as a preferred bidder for the project of six laning from Udaipur to Rajasthan/ Gujarat border on section of NH-8 in Rajasthan and Gujarat.”
The Rs 2,100 crore project is to be developed on design, built, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) under the National Highways Development Programme (NHDP) phase V.
The concession period for the project is 21 years including construction period of 910 days, the statement said.
“Subject to award, IRB’s construction order book will stand to increase to around Rs 10,000 crore, to be executed in the next four years. This will boost the company’s construction order book visibility for next three to four year,” IRB said.
With this project, the company will have 21 build-operate-transfer (BOT) road projects, out of which 13 projects are under operation.
