Maharaja Tukoji Rao Puar scion Vikram Singh Puar actively participates in Ganesha Chaturthi festivities

Festivals and celebrations have been an intrinsic part of the Indian society. Vikram Singh Puar, son of late Maharaja Srimant Tukoji Rao Puar, recently became a part of the Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations organized in his hometown, Dewas. Ganesha Chaturthi is a festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. According to the legends, this day marks the creation of Lord Ganesha by Goddess Parvati. Ganesha Chturthi festivities include devotees worshipping Ganesha idols, performing the aarti and offering prasad of fruits and sweets, especially modak, which is considered to be the favorite of Lord Ganesha.

As a part of Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations, clay idols of Ganesha in various sizes are made months in advance, which thousands of devotees take home to worship. It is customary to immerse these idols in water once the festivities are over with a prayer requesting the god to visit his devotees again the next year.

The people of Dewas celebrated the festival of Ganesha Chaturthi with great vigour. On 29th August, Vikram Singh Puar visited the Ganesha Chaturthi pandal organized at Rajabhau Mahakaal Parisar, Aawas Nagar, along with the pandals organized by Siddhi Vinayak Ganesh Utsava Samiti and New Star Ganesha Utsava Samiti, Bus Stand.

An ardent worshipper of Lord Ganesha, Vikram Singh Puar was seen actively participating in the Ganesha Chaturthi festivities held in the city. He performed aarti at the Ganesha Utsava pandals he visited.

Talking about the importance of the festival, Vikram Singh Puar said, “Ganesha Chaturthi is one of the most important religious celebrations. It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of the festivities, especially here in Dewas. I wish Lord Ganesha brings prosperity and well-being to all the residents of Dewas.”

A ten-day affair, the Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations will come to an end with the visarjana of the idols of Lord Ganesha on September 4.
