Shriram Properties supporting theme-based-townships

Finance and Industries Minister, Amit Mitra highlighted the schemes and strategies to bring synergy by using smart solutions for the builders, in his recent meet with Bangalore tech-savvies. As a result of that, half a dozen theme based Greenfield townships of West Bengal government, gathered a lot of appreciation.

The minister told a concerned media party, “Town-makers and developers want smarter solutions to their big projects, while IT majors wish to get involved with the new townships. We, the government, would tell them to work together and create real smart and thematic townships—futuristic cities with sustainable solutions.”

Amit Mitra also met tech honchos of 24 companies on October 13, 2015, at the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangalore. These companies include Cisco, HP, PwC, Accenture and 3M. Cisco showed interest to invest in e-schooling, e-health and street lighting in the theme-based township projects.

The six townships will be offered for sale through e-auction and global tendering process. Agnibina, Gitabitan, Samriddhi, Sports City, Teesta and Uttam City are the greenfield projects planned by All India Trinamool Congress, which is current ruling political party in West Bengal.

M Murli is the Managing Director of Bangalore based realty firm, Shriram Properties, who is building Shriram Grand City in Uttarpara at the moment. He said, “We started our project in Bengal without spending a penny.”

Mitra also mentioned that a consortium of developers from the Brazil, Europe, Saudi Arabia and UK, are interested in investing in intelligent and low-cost housing along with some private equity players firms. Most of them will also join the Global Bengal Summit.
