Upendra Rai back with Sahara Group, Rejoins as CEO of Sahara Media

Industry veteran Upendra Rai has recently been named as the CEO of Sahara Media. Rai, who had worked with Sahara Group before, will also be the Editor in Chief of Sahara Media.

“I am happy to be back in Sahara News, this is my third stint with Sahara. I started my career from this organization. I am happy to join back as Group CEO and Editor in Chief. It’s a new challenge for me and I am sure I’ll turn it around,” said Upendra Rai.

Before becoming the CEO of Sahara Media, Upendra Rai was Group Editorial Advisor, BusinessWorld Magazine. From 2010 to 2014, he also served as Editor, News Director, Printer and Publisher of Sahara India News Network & Resident head, Sahara India Pariwar.

Besides Sahara Media, Rai has also worked with Star News, where he was the Senior Editor. He began his career as a journalist with the Sahara Group over 12 years ago. After successful stints with CNBC and Star News, he now returns to the Sahara Group.
An official spokesperson for Sahara Media said, “Upendra Rai has worked with Sahara for a long. Then he went to other companies and has been extremely successful. It is great to have him back with Sahara Group. As the CEO of Sahara Media, we hope his contribution will be immense. This shows that people still have faith in Sahara Group.”
