Akshaya Patra, one of the leading NGOs was honored for its noble services at the True Impact Awards. Headquartered in Bengaluru, the organization is aligned towards engaging efforts and resources to get rid of hunger and malnutrition scrapes from the society. Since 2000, the organization has worked towards reaching more children with wholesome food on every single school day as an endeavor for striking out hunger and malnutrition from our country.
Akshaya Patra, Vadodara was awarded under the NGO category on 19 February, 2016 at True Impact Awards, the event which was organized by the District CSR Cell of the Vadodara Corporate Office. The splendid award ceremony was organized to endorse the work of those institutions which have significantly contributed towards social and environmental development in Vadodara in the past five years, as by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the Government schools and Government aided schools, Akshaya Patra Foundation has strived not only to fight hunger but also to bring children to school. It has received the much deserved title for its best operation processes and activities carried out in regard of the same.
Akshaya Patra Foundation has a vision that “No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger” thus, is continuously leveraging technology to support millions of children. Its state-of-the-art kitchens have become a subject of study and they attract curious visitors from around the world.
Today Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest (not-for-profit run) mid-day meal programmers serving wholesome food to over 1.4 million children from 10,845 schools across 10 states in India and desires to feed five million children by 2020.
