While India is eagerly waiting for its telecom 5G transformation, Wipro – one of the leading IT companies in India, announced that it is going to work on the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) in the direction of driving a smooth adoption in the 5G technology in the world of the communication service provider and enterprise markets.
The IT giant said that they would promote Wipro’s 5G strategic initiative with the academia and industry leaders in the communications and network equipment providers (NEP) worldwide. The company said that its role would be to provide end-to-end rollout support and interoperability lab services for the advancement of the 5G wireless network.
TIP was launched at the beginning of 2016 with the goal of fostering the pace to innovation in the telecom industry. The collaboration of Wipro’s 5G with TIP will leverage its Engineering NXT offerings which would enable innovation at scape resulting in enhancing product and platform development for its clientele of more than 500 players from across the industry.
Wipro is reported to have invested heavily in the development of TIP based blueprint of next-gen 5G operational model and a 5G MNO reference architecture. The company is developing its technologies across the entire 5G value chain, from creating new 5G chips to automation and comprehensive testing and validation services, almost everything.
Vice President of industrial and engineering services, Wipro Limited -Sanjay Bhartiya said, “Our Engineering NXT approach is the synthesis of our broad industry design experience for creating connected devices, software and data platforms to drive customer innovation at scale.”
