Being held in Rio de Janeiro, Rio Olympics 2016, officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, is a major international multi-sport event in the custom of the Olympic Games as directed by the International Olympic Committee. Formally, the games were to instigate from 5th August to 21st August 2016, however the first event—the group stage in women’s football—started on 3rd August 2016, two days prior to the opening ceremony.

All the sporting events are going on at 33 venues in the host city along with five venues in the cities of São Paulo (Brazil’s largest city), Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Manaus, and Brasília (Brazil’s capital).
