Ratul Puri, the Chairman of Hindustan Powerprojects Pvt Ltd, has been rewarded with the title of ‘CEO of the year 2015’ by Asian Power Awards 2015, which also gave the silver prize to Clean Energy arm of India Solar Business, operating a solar project at Charanka, Gujarat.The jury which selected and rewarded the well deserving titles to these marvels was led by John Yeap, Mark Hutchinson and John Goss, who are the Partner Head of Energy Asia at Pinsent Masons, Energy Expert at Advisers in Energy and Managing Director of Ceejay International Ltd, respectively.

More than 100 key industrialists and executives attended the award felicitation ceremony which was organised on September 2, 2015, at Bankok, Thailand.

The chairman of HPPPL, said, “The Indian power sector has been growing and thanks to the current Government’s timely intervention. If one is able to plan for a long-term sustainable business model, the probability of success is very high and that’s what we have done at Hindustan Power. We would not have been able to achieve many of our milestones, without the teams and their dedication. I must thank my team and all those who have played a major role in the emerging the organisation as one of the leading power players in the country.”

The CEO of India Solar Business, Rajya Ghei was glad to receive the silver prize at the ceremony and said, “The solar potential in India is immense and with a target of 100 GW of solar by 2022, the country is set to witness a rapid growth. The Clean energy arm of the company is the largest solar developer in the country and we intend to keep pace with the growing solar requirements in the Country.”

Tim Charlton of Asian Power congratulated the award winners Ratul Puri and Rajya Ghei by saying “We have passed a decade of recognizing the best achievements and projects in the region’s industry, and tonight we put the spotlight on 2015’s key players who bested others in a drive for efficiency and productivity in the power sector.”
