Not Jong Un but Kardashian, President Trump meets Kim

Two of the most talked-about figures in the USA had a rendezvous on Wednesday. President Donald Trump and socialite Kim Kardashian met to discuss the country’s prison reformation. It was Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s efforts that enabled the meeting. Prison reform happens to be one of the major policies of Jared Kushner, who is also a top White House Adviser.

It is speculated that Kim and President Trump also conversed over the pardon of Alice Marie Johnson, a 62-year-old drug offender with a non-violent background. She is currently serving life without the possibility of parole despite her first-time offence. Alice Marie Johnson was arrested in 1996 for drug conspiracy and money laundering charges.

“I acknowledge that I have done wrong, I made the biggest mistake of my life to make ends meet and got involved with people selling drugs,” stated Alice Marie Johnson in a phone interview from prison. This October will mark 21 years of her incarceration.

Kim Kardashian has been actively campaigning against wrongful convictions. Kim Kardashian tweeted about another case, a Nashville man was released from prison prematurely due to an error. After the man rehabilitated himself, he was sent back to prison for 10 years.

Following the meeting, the POTUS tweeted a picture with Kim — “Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing.”

Pardon will be a tough decision for President Trump as it will go against his drug policy. Earlier in a rally, he said “If you shoot one person, they give you life, they give you the death penalty. These drug dealers can kill 2,000, 3,000 people, and nothing happens to them.”
