Renault India: Global launch of Triber on August 28

Renault India, the French automobile joint, is all set to introduce three new vehicles, including an electric vehicle by 2022.

Venkatram Mamillapalle, country CEO and managing director of Renault India Operations, said that the global launch of Triber will happen on August 28, followed by a new model code-named HBC next year. It can be booked online by paying an authorized dealership of Rs. 11,000. However, it was globally unveiled in June.

As stated by Renault India, dispatches of Triber have already started to reach its over 350 dealerships across India.

The CEO stated that the next two cars, including Triber, will be sub-four meter. By launching these models, the company aims to double its market share and take it from existing 2.2%-2.4% to 5% in three years. He added that majority of India’s car market is lead by sub-four-meter cars and the firm wants to reach there.

Features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, eagle beak-shaped taillights, roof rails, three-slat chrome grille and 15-inch alloy wheels can be seen in the upcoming Triber. The famous car is said to have skid plates at the front and rear. Renault boasts that the car has dual-tone interiors. Apart from these, other features include: digital LED instrument cluster with 3.5-inch LCD screen, Apple CarPlay compatibility, push start/stop button and 8-inch touchscreen Media Nav Evolution infotainment system with Android Auto.

With regards to safety measures, the car includes four airbags, rear parking sensors with camera, ABS with EBD etc.

Planning to increase its market share in the rural areas, Renault is now focusing on Tier-II cities. Currently, the firms market share is 35%.

Renault India declares that Triber is neither a multi-purpose vehicle nor a sub-compact vehicle. Instead, it has positioned a unique segment in itself.

As per reports, besides launching its best sellers – the Kwid hatchback and the Duster SUV in the latter part of this year, the French car maker is likely to launch a small SUV next year.
