Essel Group unit invested Rs 100 crore in waste-to-energy plant at Tamil Nadu

Two subsidiaries of Essel Infraprojects Ltd, Essel Pallavapuram and Tambaram MSW Pvt Ltd, bagged the contract from Pallavaram Municipality for this project.

In an official statement, the officials of Essel Infraprojects Ltd said, “The waste-to-energy plan in Vengadamangalam (near Chennai) has been set up on design, build, operate and transfer basis and would treat 300 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day.”

The CEO of Essel Infraprojects Ltd, Ashok Agarwal said, “Essel Infra is pleased to associate with Government of Tamil Nadu in setting up the first state-of-the-art waste to energy plant. We are today, India’s largest MSW Company with eight projects in waste to energy segment.”

Apart from Tamil Nadu, Essel Infraprojects Ltd has MSW projects in Amritsar, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Ranchi, and Surat.
