Reebok may organize UFC (MMA) in India

Good news for MMA fans as Reebok is planning to bring Ultimate Fighting Championship to India. Reebok is an American sports brand operating its functions under German sports goods maker Adidas. The former is also looking forward to make itself a core sports brands by partnering with global franchisees like Cross Fit.

Reebok will bring a range of UFC kits along with fan wear which will include the athlete’s favorite and most preferred high-performance gear.

New retail store, Fight Shop is Reebok’s infant plan to sell UFC products and include MMA trainers inside, who will motivate the consumers to enroll for MMA classes. On the other hand, spokesperson of India Reebok didn’t comment upon it. It has been estimated from the preparations and plans of Reebok that it certainly is working upon organizing UFC in India and bring the MMA sensations like Anderson Silva, Rhonda Rousey, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones and others to India.

Managing Director of Adidas Group, Dave Thomas confirmed progress of the plan while telling the media, that looking at the increasing fan following of MMA in India the company will open 6 Fight Shops in metropolitan cities right now and will launch more in near future. Brand Marketing head of Reebok India, Ms. Kanika Mittal also informed that 3 million fans of MMA belong to India on official facebook page of the MMA, out of 10 million fans worldwide.

UFC and Reebok have also partnered to launch a UFC Fight kit across the globe. These kits will be worn by the professional fighters as well while stepping in the ring.

If sources are to be believed, Sony Kix is another prospect partner of Reebok to telecast the event on Indian television whenever it takes place in the country.
